Energy codes and compliance paths
Every energy code you can choose under Energy Code Used, with the compliance paths it offers in the Rating System list.
On this page
Certifications and programs (LEED, NGBS, Enterprise Green Communities, Living Building Challenge, ILFI Zero Carbon, ILFI Zero Energy, Net Zero Energy Certifications, C-PACE and 179D) can be chosen with any code. A code marked superseded has a newer edition in effect, and stays available for projects permitted under it.

Notes
- IECC and ASHRAE 90.1. An IECC edition allows the ASHRAE 90.1 edition of its time instead of its own requirements (IECC 2009: 90.1-2007; 2012: 90.1-2010; 2015: 90.1-2013; 2018: 90.1-2016; 2021: 90.1-2019). To use that alternative, choose the 90.1 edition as the Energy Code Used.
- ASHRAE 90.1-2025 has no building performance factors in InverseHub yet.
- IECC 2006 has no standard reference design tables in InverseHub yet, so Fill Baseline leaves envelope, fenestration and lighting for you.
- State and city codes that change some baseline rules show a reminder in Fill Baseline to check the values against the code’s text.
